Attention Parents and 8th Graders
As we help prepare our 8th graders for next year, many options are available for high school. On this site we will post information on the three public high schools that Watertown/Oakville students have access to attend. These schools are Watertown High School, Kaynor Vocational/Technical High School, and The Agri-Science Program at Nonnewaug High School. Throughout the year we will set up informational workshops and assemblies here at Swift. We will also post pertinent information on open house opportunities, contact information and application deadlines. It is our goal to give you and your 8th grader the information needed to make informed decisions for their futures.
Nonnewaug High School Agri-Science Program Informational Session for 8th grade students is scheduled for September 25th at 11:00.
Please sign up in homeroom beginning Monday, September 14th to receive a pass for this presentation.
Kaynor Tech held an informational seession with all eighth graders on October14th at Swift.
Students were given an informational pamphlet and an Open House Invitation in homerooms.
Applications for both Nonnewaug and Kaynor are available from your School Counselor and are due back to your counselor by November 14th.
School Counselors visited classes, on each 8th grade team, this week to further explain about high school selection and the application process. A fun activity of self exploration and student questionaires were completed. Please remember that good planning now will support great decisions for next year. Let us know any questions that you may still need answered.
