Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to Swift Middle School. We believe, as you do, that your child’s education is of the utmost importance. This is why we strive to create a safe, healthy, and positive environment where all students can flourish. We at Swift believe learning is a lifelong collaborative effort involving all members of the community.

It is imperative that we foster a strong bond between home and school. One of the most important ways to do this is to encourage you to join the active and dedicated P.T.S.O. (Parent Teacher Student Organization). Equally as important is for you to share with your child the guidelines outlined in this handbook.

The Swift handbook highlights academic course offerings, information about special school clubs, sports opportunities, a code of conduct and policies relevant to Swift Middle School. Included are also the philosophy, goals and policies of the Watertown Board of Education.

We have wonderful staff members at Swift who are always available to help your children make their experiences at Swift successful. Please encourage your child to take full advantage of all the opportunities Swift has to offer. The staff and I look forward to working with you to make these school years the most rewarding ever.
