The Frances Griffin Memorial Library Media Center is open every school day from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students may read, study quietly, perform Internet searches (if they have a pass), or complete other research and homework projects.

Students should stop at the circulation desk to drop off their agenda, sign in, and ask for help if necessary.

Rules

Students may visit the LMC for 10 minutes from Study Hall. Students may obtain a FULL PERIOD pass or an INTERNET pass to work on a project. Only the teacher assigning a project may give a Full Period Pass/ Internet Pass.

Library books are the responsibility of the student who has checked them out. Any student that has lost or damaged a book is responsible for paying for a replacement before receiving his/her report card.

Agenda passes are required for entry to the library and must be signed by the student's study hall monitor or teacher.

No food or drink is allowed in the library.

We follow all school rules and policies. Students who do not follow all school rules will be asked to leave.

It is expected that students will come to the library with a purpose and with the proper tools. (textbooks, assignments, paper, writing utensils, a desire to read quietly). The library staff is friendly and willing to help any student who asks - - our goal is for every person to succeed with their class research and homework and to provide something enjoyable for them to read in their leisure time.

A house without books is like a room without windows. No man has a right to bring up children without surrounding them with books.... Children learn to read being in the presence of books.         — Horace MANN (1796-1859)
