THE GRADE 7 SCIENCE CURRICULUM CONSISTS OF FOUR UNITS OF STUDY -  

*PROPERTIES OF MATTER:  Physical and Chemical Changes, Atoms and Elements & The Periodic Table, Chemical Reactions and equations

*STRUCTURE & FUNCTION: "Human Biology" - Cell Structures and Functions, Five Body Systems

*HEREDITY & EVOLUTION: "Genetics" - Chromosomes & Genes, Traits and Inheritance, Punnet Squares, Genetic Disorders

*SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY  IN SOCIETY  -  Nutritional Needs, Food Preservation, Foodborne Illnesses

We will also practice many SCIENCE SKILLS such as measuring length, mass, volume and temperature with metric units, analyzing various diagrams, data tables and graphs, and using the scientific method to solve problems.  

Here are a few reminders for being a successful science student:                                                  

  1. 1. Always write your HOMEWORK in your agenda and then DO IT every night.
  2. 2. Follow the SWIFT CODE OF CONDUCT.
  3. 3. Listen and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.
  4. 4. Participate APPROPRIATELY in class.  
  5. 5. See me for EXTRA HELP whenever you need it!
  6. 6.  When ABSENT copy classnotes and do missed homework assignments.

TUES.  1/6  -  READ & VOCAB. - Pgs. 16 - 22
