I will make an effort to update this page so that you will know what we are working on in any particular week. However as the week progresses the actual assignments may vary. 8th Grade - Class 463 - Period C CMT Coach Book (FYI: The Text stays in our classroom.) Times Table Correct Answers per Second: from 0.46 to 0.42 Objectives: The students will continue to memorize their times tables through 12. The students will work with solving mulitstep word problems. The students will convert measurements. The students will review perimeter. The students will work with area formulas. The students will be able to name the parts of geometric shapes. Monday (Jan. 5): In class the students will go over the results of the check writing test. We will review work in the Coach Book.
Tuesday (Jan. 6): In class we will complete the work on solving multistep word problems.
Wednesday (Jan. 7): We will begin Chapter 2, Geometry and Measurement. We will work with the rules for converting within the same measuring system.
Thursday (Jan. 8): We will complete Lesson 17 and begin Lesson 18, Perimeter and Area.
Friday (Jan. 9): Keep studying - times tables test every Friday. We will complete Lesson 18. |

8th Grade - Class 483 - Periods B Transition Math - 2nd half Times Table Correct Answers per Second: from 0.58 to 0.58 Objectives: The students will continue to memorize their times tables through 12. The students will know some general strategies for problem solving. The students will know prime and composite numbers. The students will use drawings or draw diagrams to solve word problems. The students will use trial and error as a learning stategy. The students will be able to make a table to find patterns and make generalizations. Monday (Jan. 5): In class the students will go over the results of the check writing test. We will begin Chapter 6. Hmwk: Lesson 6-1. #17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.
Tuesday (Jan. 6): In Lesson 6-2 we will learn composite and prime numbers while using 'Read Carefully' techniques for problem solving. Hmwk: ATM # 13 - 21.

7th Grade - Class 433- Period A Transition Math - All Concepts Times Table Correct Answers per Second: from 0.62 to 0.63 Objectives: The students will continue to memorize their times tables through 12. The students will calculate the value of a variable in a formula. The students will do an experiment - relative frequency. The students will calculate probabilities. The students will find solutions to equations.
Monday (Jan. 5): In class the students will go over the results of the check writing test. We will continue in Chapter 4.
Tuesday (Jan. 6): In class we will review formulas for AREA. Hmwk: ATM, Lesson 4-7.
Wednesday (Jan. 7): In class we will complete an activity on probability. Hmwk: read and take notes on Lesson 4-8. Thursday (Jan. 8): We will continue work on Probability.
Friday (Jan. 9): Keep studying - times tables test every Friday. We will begin Lesson 4-9, Open Sentences, in class. Return to the top.
We will be working within four major areas this year in both the seventh and eighth grade classes. These areas are: Numerical and Proportional Reasoning Geometry and Measurement Probability and Statistics Algebraic Reasoning
