Welcome everyone to eighth grade English! I hope
everyone had a fun, restful summer! This year some
of the major topics that we will cover are grammar
usage and mechanics, vocabulary development
and essay writing. We will also be reading two or
three novels and writing a research paper.
Tips for Success
-Come into class quietly and on time.
-Come to class prepared. (pen, notebook, textbook, homework, etc)
-Remain seated during class and never leave your seat without permission.
-Raise your hand when asking a question or adding to a discussion.
-Respect others in the classroom.
-Follow all written and verbal directions.
-Follow the Swift Middle School Code of Conduct.
-Remember to ask questions if you are confused or unsure of something.
-Complete all written work in blue or black ink.
-Hand in assignments on time according to the due dates.
The Week Ahead...
December 15 - December 19
- -Monday: Pronoun Review (Indefinite, Personal, Reflexive, and Intensive)
- -Tuesday: (4 hour session) Pronoun Quiz/Vocabulary Quiz (depending on section)
- -Wednesday: Pronoun Quiz/Vocabulary Quiz (depending on section)
- -Thursday: Introduction of new writing prompt
- -Friday: Vocabulary
***Late homework is ALWAYS accepted***
*Students are always encouraged to come see me for help with any assignments. Students can come see me during the following periods:
-Tuesday F/G period, Thursday K period, and Friday F/G period.
