A discussion on technology.

A discussion on 6 types of energy and how we use them us.

Learning about structures and forces that act on them by completing the Tallest Tower activity and the West Point Bridge Designer activity.

Visiting web sites such as Google Earth and MSN.com - maps, and the high school robot Team 237 site.

Learning report presentation skills including LCD projection and microphone technologies and accessing how stuff works.com.

Learning relationships between input and output energy, gravity, wind resistance, and mass using a trebuchet simulation program.

Learning about engineering design and reverse engineering using Lego's.

Learning robot programming using Lego NXT mindstorm kits.

Learning and using proper team work skills throughout the semester.

Learning and using proper speaking writing skills daily.

 

 Topics in 6th grade Technology Education include:

Learning about automobile systems, drag, aerodynamics and efficiency by using Car Builder software.

Learning about storyboards and animation by using Pivot Stickfigure Animator
