Mrs. Borbas teaches at Swift Middle School every afternoon. Students attend group sectional rehearsals including the Flute, Clarinet, Alto & Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion. Students also attend a full band rehearsal once a week. Students must always have an instrument, their Essential Elements 2000 Method Book #1 & #2, and band music for sectional rehearsals and for full band. Students are required to practice the given music as their band homework.
Performance requirements for all band students throughout the school year include playing at the Swift Middle School Winter and Spring Concerts, marching in the Memorial Day Parade, and performing at the Fantastic Music Festival at Lake Compounce every May.
Mrs. Borbas' goal is for everyone to have a positive playing experience in band and to enjoy music.
